Update your browserAttention, participating nonprofits — We are excited to announce our first two Abilene Gives prize contests! While most of the prize opportunities will happen on the actual Abilene Gives day (May 2), we have two contests that require work in advance of the giving day. They are as follows:
The nonprofit organization that creates the best video to promote your organization’s Abilene Gives page will win $1,000 toward the organization’s total during Abilene Gives. You can do the work yourself, contract it out, beg volunteers to do it, you name it! If you wish to submit more than one video, go for it. Videos must be submitted to Megan Dobbs by 5 p.m. April 27. Email a link to mdobbs@cfabilene.org. Submissions will be judged by local media personalities who are not affiliated with any of the contestants or their organizations. The winner will be announced May 1.
The nonprofit organization that displays the most effective use of social media to promote your organization’s Abilene Gives page from 11 a.m. April 6 through 12 p.m. on May 2 will win an additional $500 toward the organization’s total during Abilene Gives. CFA staff will judge based on creativity, impressions, engagement, and effort. Content eligible for consideration must be on the organization’s Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter pages and must include the #AbileneGives hashtag (not case sensitive) to be considered. Judges will evaluate all #AbileneGives posts from each organization as a compilation, not just individual posts. The winner will be announced May 1.
NOTE: We’re seeing a lot of great Abilene Gives promotions out there among your organizations. Some of these, however, are not specifying that you want people to give to YOUR ORGANIZATION’S profile and how to do that. We recommend you promote your specific organization to make sure your efforts are helping your NPO.
Keep an eye on your email over the next few weeks, as the Abilene Gives day-of prize opportunities will be announced. Best of luck to all participants, and let the games begin!
