Nonprofit Leadership Academy
Nonprofit Leadership Academy provides nonprofit executive leaders with expanded tools, knowledge, and connections to enhance their organization’s impact and sustainability.
The Academy begins in 2025 and will feature nine sessions. We will cover essential topics for nonprofits during NLA sessions and operate in a cohort style. Participants represent Abilene and the West-Central Texas region.
This immersive, intensive learning experience is designed for current employees of nonprofits, regardless of size or mission.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Angela Seaworth, Ph.D.
Dr. Angela Seaworth is a nonprofit management professional who has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector as a fundraiser, consultant, and professor. She has worked with a variety of organizations including foundations, private and public schools, chambers of commerce, ministries, health clinics, and arts and cultural institutions on nonprofit governance, strategic planning, capacity building, and organizational assessments.
Dr. Seaworth served as the founding director of the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rice University. She is an Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE). Dr. Seaworth received her doctorate in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University’s Lilly Family School on Philanthropy. She earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs, and her B.A. from Denison University
