Abilene Gives
ANNUAL GIVING DAY
Abilene Gives is a 12-hour day of online giving to raise money and awareness for local nonprofits.
Since 2017, Abilene Gives has been hosted annually on the first Tuesday in May.
On the designated giving day, the community can view and donate $10 or more to participating nonprofit organizations.
Nonprofits also have opportunities to earn bonus money throughout the giving day from timed prizes, social media contests, and amplification pool.
The amplification pool is a pool of bonus money that amplifies the donations made to participating nonprofits.
The amount of the amplification pool a nonprofit receives after the giving day directly correlates with the total amount the nonprofit raises during the giving day.
For example, if a nonprofit raises 5% of the total amount raised by ALL nonprofits on the giving day, then that nonprofit will receive 5% of the amplification pool.
On average, 160 nonprofits and 4,000 donors power the giving day.
