More than $139K in grants awarded to Coleman County nonprofits for 2025

More than $139K in total grants from the Coleman County Foundation and Friends of Coleman County have been awarded to Coleman County nonprofits through this year's grant cycles.

In addition to a $50,000 grant to the Coleman County Senior Center capital project, the Coleman County Foundation awarded grants totaling $67,497 to these fall recipients:

  1. Coleman County Center for Senior Citizens – Funds for the renovation of the newly acquired senior center
  2. Coleman Heritage, Arts, and Preservation Society, Inc. – Funds for renovation to include a timeline exhibition of Coleman County
  3. Coleman County Public Library – Funds to purchase four of the top 10 recommended digitizing equipment
  4. Holiday Hill, Inc. – Funds to purchase and install a new metal outside magnetic door and door frame
  5. Santa Anna Volunteer Fire Department – Funds to purchase a "Lazy Susan" for extrication tools
  6. The Ark Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter – Supplemental funding for insurance and vehicle expenses, including the cost of fuel

The Friends of Coleman County Foundation awarded grants totaling $22,000 to these spring recipients:

  1. Boys and Girls Club – Scholarships for the Boys and Girls Club of Coleman County
  2. Christian Family Ministries of Coleman County – Purchase and install a new garage door for the facility
  3. Coleman Cares – Kid's Corner project and program support
  4. Coleman Youth Recreation Association – Purchase football equipment
  5. Food Bank of West Central Texas – Feeding residents of Coleman County
  6. Friends of the Coleman Public Library  – Summer reading program and community events presented by Humanities Texas
  7. Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department – Pour concrete for sidewalk and entry area under awning.
  8. Holiday Hill, Inc. – Purchase new commercial steel exterior and interior doors
  9. Panther Creek CISD – Purchase a CNC plasma table for the dual credit welding program

Since its beginning in 1999, the Coleman County Foundation has awarded more than $1.52 million in grants. The foundation's fund is managed by the Community Foundation of Abilene, and the earnings from these assets are used to make grants to nonprofits serving various needs in Coleman County.
