Update your browserThis year has brought its challenges. Everyone has need. And Abilene stepped up on May 5 to help local nonprofits that work tirelessly to enhance quality of life for us all.
This was the fourth year CFA hosted Abilene Gives, a 24-hour day of giving to raise money for local nonprofits. The need was great this year, due to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on local nonprofits. These organizations have canceled major fundraisers and altered or suspended programs. It's taken a great toll on their revenue. That's why the theme of this year's giving day was now more than ever.
Abilene responded to this need, raising $1.3 million in a single day for around 140 local causes!
These organizations feed people. They provide housing. They enrich our community with arts experiences. They preserve history and culture. They educate. They inspire. In short, we need our nonprofits. And they need us.
To those who gave, thank you for helping fill a major need. Because our nonprofits really need us, #NowMoreThanEver.
