$934k awarded through grant cycles in fiscal year 2023

July 01, 2023

The Community Foundation of Abilene and our donors awarded more than $934k through our community grant cycles during our 2023 fiscal year (July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023). We hold two community grant cycles each year – one in the spring and one in the fall.

Since the Foundation opened in 1985, donors have given unrestricted gifts and established field of interest funds to support local needs through the competitive grant cycles.

Additional contributions to grant cycles are made by donor-advised fundholders and general contributions from the community.

These grant opportunities are open to nonprofit organizations serving the Abilene community. The awarded nonprofits represent these categories:

  • Arts and Culture: 9%
  • Children and Youth: 22%
  • Community Development: 16%
  • Education: 3%
  • Health: 13%
  • Human Services: 37%

See the list of all grantees from the fall and spring grant cycles below.
