The Señora Stacy Horton Sanchez Scholarship

Stacy Horton Sanchez loved art and she loved people. 

Stacy was an encourager to all and believed everyone should have the opportunity to reach their highest potential. 

As an art teacher at Wylie High School in Abilene, Texas, Stacy wanted all of her students to succeed, find happiness, and have the freedom to fully express themselves through art.

Stacy also cared deeply for her alma maters, Jim Ned High School and McMurry University. 

The Señora Stacy Horton Sanchez Scholarship was established in 2018 to honor her legacy and to carry on her mission to spread love for humanity and her passion for education and art. 

The scholarship benefits a student who embodies the type of friend, teacher, and artist that Stacy was.  

Eligibility

• Graduating Senior from Jim Ned High School or Wylie High School.
• Majoring in Art or Education.
• Must have participated in Art in High School.
