Marguerite & Ike Chism Scholarship

Marguerite and Ike Chism believed strongly that education is the answer to many of the world’s problems. Both of the Chisms were highly respected in Albany and were lifelong members of the First Baptist Church. As John Tunnel, their pastor for many years said at his funeral, “Ike Chism was a man of impeccable integrity, genuine humility, with a generous spirit and a desire to put others first.” Both Mr. and Mrs. Chism shared an unshakable faith in God and lived their faith every day. Near the end of Mrs. Chism’s life, she wrote these words, “Ike and I have praised God day by day for His loving and watchful care all these many years.” 

Eligibility 

• Albany High School graduating senior 
• Be in the top 25% of graduating class 
• Planning to major in Engineering or Physics
