Jean and Curly Hays Scholarship

Jean Hays established this scholarship because she feels strongly that higher education is important to a person’s career advancement and increases a person’s awareness of the world around him including local community, civic and cultural needs. Jean continues to be involved with numerous civic and cultural organizations in Abilene including The Grace Museum, the Woman’s Club, and Alliance for Women and Children. Her late husband, Curly Hays, was the farm and ranch representative for West Texas Utilities. His work with 4-H, stock shows and local football touched many young lives.
