The Foundation is committed to equipping our nonprofit community, both staff and leadership, with skills and knowledge to maximize program impact. 

Each year, the Community Foundation invites nonprofit staff and leadership to training and workshop events. We are invested in our nonprofits and their effort to build capacity. Our mission is to be a central place where nonprofits can find resources, develop tools, access to industry experts, and more.


CFA Learn

CFA Learn is a quarterly nonprofit educational series dedicated to equipping nonprofits with the resources they need to be successful.

Past sessions have covered topics such as: fundraising techniques, planned giving, sustainability through endowments, grantmaking, HR and team building, marketing, and much more.

It’s all about making our community better. That’s been our purpose since our founding in 1985. For nearly 40 years, we have worked with donors, community leaders, volunteers, and others to carry this mission forward.

This workshop's purpose is to guide the Foundation for the following audiences: new EDs, nonprofit executive staff, board members, community stakeholders.

BOARD TRAINING

Nonprofit Board Member Orientation

This workshop is designed to introduce community volunteers to the duties of serving on a board.

The purpose of this workshop is to create a space for discussing issues and sharing pertinent information so volunteers can make informed Board commitments.

Presentations are held three times a year – spring, summer, and fall.

BCEDN

Big Country Executive Directors Network

The Big Country Executive Directors Network (BCEDN) is a group of nonprofit executive directors from Abilene and the surrounding area that meet monthly to sharpen their leadership skills.

This group is exclusive to executive directors, so the information shared is confidential.
