Tornado Relief Volunteer Opportunities

May 20, 2019

For anyone interested in volunteering to help with tornado relief efforts Tuesday, see the information below from Big Country Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD):

The Big Country VOAD is requesting volunteers again on Tuesday — barring any tornadoes overnight — as we continue Abilene recovery efforts from Saturday’s tornado.

Volunteers will work inside at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church gym only. We need people who have computer and/or people skills tomorrow and for the next few days — 9 am to 3 pm. 2 or 3 hour shifts.

A multi-agency recovery center for all who’s homes were damaged by the tornado are encouraged to come to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church gym starting Tuesday, 10 am to 2 pm, to meet with recovery agencies, plus refreshments, and supplies.

People may also continue to phone in their needs by dialing 2-1-1, choose your language; select option 1.
