Update your browser2021 means a new year, new opportunities, and new memories to make. When talking about the new month and the new year, our family imagined that 2021 could mean the “end” of the pandemic (and maybe even mask-wearing!), but it’s been hard to feel enthusiastic about the "newness" of the year and excited to make new memories when things still feel a lot like 2020: stressful and hard. Despite that, there were SO many good things that happened in 2020 and there are EXCITING things to look forward to for 2021!!
We were blown away by how generous the Abilene community continued to be towards our local non-profit organizations that serve so many in need, even in non-pandemic times. Although the pandemic paused so many things (like many fundraising events!) in the Abilene-area, grants were still distributed, service opportunities still took place (with proper protocols in place), and plans were adjusted for success in a post-COVID world.
So what exactly are we looking forward to?
Well, Future Fund members, here are some specific things that will be offered for you:
The OPEN ROAD concert series is BACK!! Tickets go on sale this month for members and they will go fast. Make sure you are following Open Road on social media (@openroadabilene on all the social channels) and check your email for links to purchase the tickets!
We're starting a new series: Lagers + Learning, a mini-learning event focused on building a philanthropy-minded culture within Future Fund. The first one will be at Sockdolager, so stay tuned for details!
A spring family event at the zoo! Again, details TBD.
We look forward to connecting with you in-person at one of these events this year! We encourage you to invite your friends and anyone else who would be interested in joining our incredible group of members that make up Future Fund. We look forward to watching the ways you bless and support the amazing non-profits of Abilene.
God bless,
David and Amanda Pittman
