Donations to Make in Honor of Veterans Day

The Community Foundation of Abilene is beyond grateful to all of the veterans who have served to protect our freedoms.

Below are some veteran-related funds CFA manages that you can make donations to in honor of Veterans Day. Just click the hyperlink for the fund you wish to donate to.

  • The Texas Veterans Cemetery Vietnam Memorial Project - Your donation supports the creation and placement of a Vietnam-era veterans memorial monument to be placed at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. It will be designed to honor all veterans that served during the Vietnam era. The cost of the project is approximately $70,000.
     
  • Gold Star Memorial Scholarship - An anonymous donor established the Gold Star Memorial Scholarship to honor the families of the men and women who sacrificed their lives protecting this country through military service since 9/11. This college scholarship is awarded to an Abilene High or Cooper graduating senior who is an ROTC member.
     
  • GySgt. Robert K. Keller Memorial Scholarship Fund - This scholarship was established in memory of Robert Keith Keller. Keith was a Marine who spent his career encouraging young adults to believe they could overcome any obstacles they faced and become leaders. This college scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Taylor or Callahan counties.
