The Big Texas Rally for Recovery (BTRR) is a celebration of recovery for individuals, families, and entire communities across Texas. This celebration is part of the annual National Recovery Month celebrated across the country every year in September. This local event is organized by the Abilene Recovery Council.

5K details:

  • Start time will be at 7:30 a.m. 
  • The course will run until 8:30 a.m. 
  • At 8:30 a.m., the Big Texas Rally for Recovery will no longer be responsible for runners on the path.
  • The starting area will be near the children's playground. Look for the Abilene Running Company van.
  • WE ENCOURAGE everyone to wear animal costumes. 
  • If you don't have a costume, we will provide FREE animal face painting. Face painting available 7:30-7:45 a.m.
  • FREE t-shirt and finisher medal for ALL participants. 

Community rally details:

  • May Farm Petting Zoo
  • Rescue animals from All Kind Animal Initiative
  • Games, and face painting
  • Gravity's Edge rock climbing wall 
  • Guest speakers, and live DJ
  • Resource tables
  • ALL EVENTS ARE FREE

The first 400 attendees will receive a free t-shirt, and the first 500 receive a free lunch. For more information, contact Trisha at tbos@abirecovery.org.
