Update your browserThis year, the Community Foundation of Abilene awarded a record amount in scholarships — $1,068,150 to 219 students.
A reception was held at the Hendrick Home for Children, where donors who established the scholarship funds were invited to meet the students selected as award recipients.
Scholarships support students pursuing specific postsecondary careers or certifications in trades such as welding and mechanics.
These scholarship funds are established in partnership with our generous donors. The Foundation manages more than 140 scholarship funds that support deserving students in the Big Country.

Award eligibility includes but is not limited to recent high school graduates, high school students classified as rising seniors, current college students, and nontraditional students. Scholarships vary in award amounts and terms (one-year or multi-year) and require enrollment verification.
Donors work with the Foundation to set the criteria for their fund, such as designating the award for students from specific schools or students studying in a particular field.
