Future Fund awards record $122k during 2025 grant cycle

Future Fund grantee, BCFS, provides a place for young adults to receive guidance, counseling, and resources, and goals to live independently, avoiding homelessness.

February 13, 2025

During this year's Future Fund grant cycle, $122,642 was awarded to 32 nonprofits serving kids in the Abilene community. Sixty-seven percent of the funding support came from donor-advised funds from the Community Foundation of Abilene and other community contributions.

Future Fund members make this happen. Membership dues are pooled into the endowment fund, and the fund's revenue is used each year to make grants to nonprofits serving local children and youth.

This year marks 30 years of grantmaking impact supported by Future Fund. Since its founding in 1995, The Future Fund grant cycles and endowment have provided more than $1.6 million for these youth-serving organizations.
