More than $100,000 in grants awarded to Coleman County nonprofits for 2022

(December 1, 2022) — Grants from the Coleman County Foundation and Friends of Coleman County have been awarded to Coleman County nonprofits through grant cycles held this year.

Grants totaling $82,270 were awarded by the Coleman County Foundation to these fall recipients:

  1. City of Novice – sidewalk and ramp ADA compliance updates

  2. City of Santa Anna – warning siren purchase

  3. Coleman County Medical Center District Foundation – patient room furniture for visitors

  4. Coleman County Youth Activity Center – kitchen oven replacements at Bill Franklin Center

  5. Coleman Police Department – traffic control equipment

  6. Friends of Coleman Public Library – summer reading program

  7. Santa Anna Historical Development Organization – Penatuhkah Comanche Trail signage

  8. Santa Anna ISD – Pre-K classroom furniture and educational supplies

  9. The Ark Domestic Violence Shelter – client assistance

Grants totaling $20,000 were awarded by the Friends of Coleman County Foundation to these spring recipients:

  1. Coleman Heritage, Arts & Preservation Society – Heritage Hall/Coleman Museum updates

  2. Coleman County Law Enforcement Center – protective equipment

  3. Coleman County Medical Center District Foundation –trash receptacles for new medical campus

  4. Coleman Park Police – police equipment

  5. Cornerstone Community Action Agency – Certified Nursing Assistant program tuition assistance

Since its beginning in 1999, the Coleman County Foundation has awarded more than $1.26 million in grants. The foundation's fund is managed by the Community Foundation of Abilene, and the earnings from these assets are used to make grants to nonprofits serving various needs in Coleman County.
