The Volunteer Fire Department Fund at the Community Foundation of Abilene focuses on the tremendous work being done by the various rural and volunteer fire departments in Taylor County and the surrounding 9 counties. With grants from this fund, we will help the VFD’s address the safety and security issues that our communities are facing during one of the worst fire seasons ever. Please join us in this endeavor to support these firefighters as they sacrifice daily to protect our precious communities by choosing one of the monetary levels of support below-we need you and so do our volunteer firefighters!
Grants will be awarded for the following fire fighting and fire prevention needs:
- Disposable supplies
- Communication devices
- Trucks (partial funding)
- Safety equipment
- Fire equipment
- Miscellaneous goods (for use in fire fighting and prevention)
